Help phone wont overclock

my phone has CM7 netarchy kernal and WAS overclocked to 1.4 GHZ, now for some reason the highest it will let me go is to 1.0 which is the standard speed for a stock phone. i dont understand what is wrong.

Also on a side note, when 2.3.5 comes out on the 11th, will rooted users have a way to OTA update or will he have to find it online somewhere and copy to SD card and blah blah?

are you using a beta cm7 with nightlies or are you using the cm7 V7.1 RC and do you OC from the cm7 setting or use an app? myself i don't use the cm7 settings to OC i have an app called "NO-Frills CPU Control" which has worked great for me.

as far as the upcoming update Windst a senior member on XDA told me yesterday when i had a similar question that "we won't have to reroot, because someone will make a rooted flashable version. In other words, dont worry about the OTA because we have XDA to make updates more efficient for us. You'll be fine, we'll know more around the 11th." if that helps. right now it's more of a wait and see from what I'm gathering

PS: if you use the http://androidforums.com/nexus-s-4g-all-things-root/ section you'll get a faster response to questions.

I use an app called setcpu, and u have the RC cm7. idk why its not working. i will upload a screen shot to show that the most it will let me do is 1.0. and for the OTA i will check back again on the 11th.

Look in Settings > About Phone > Kernel to see what kernel you're currently running. Could be you'll need to reflash Netarchy.

Also, look in Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Performance > CPU Settings. Set your clock speed there if you can. That seems to override setCPU.
