Root Phone won't power on after failed flash

I'm running 1.8.3
I rooted using gingerbreak, everything went fine.

i followed the instructions here to unlock my bootloader

the process hit 99% then said flash failed.

i cannot turn my phone on.
i've taken the battery out, put it back in. tried holding volume up, down, both. when i plugged it into my computer i got a green light flashed once.

help would be greatly appreciated. i'm freaking out right now.
 
What was the file you were trying to flash? Or was it while you were trying to unlock the bootloader?

it happened while i was trying to unlock the bootloader in RSD Lite. i followed the instructions completely.

i gave up, and took it to at&t. they gave me a new atrix.

i'm going to stay away from unlocking my bootloader. it hard bricked the phone. that was a scary moment.

You should NOT have taken the phone back to AT&T - a very bad move.

Yes, but it was your fault. I'm to trying to be nasty, but YOU broke it, so it was *your* job to fix it - not AT&T's. If you couldn't fix it yourself, you should have found someone who could, and paid them to do it. Why burden AT&T with your mistake? The phone they gave you worked fine out of the box, didn't it?

oh, so it was a moral thing. i don't care about that. at&t makes enough money off of me.
 
If AT&T decided to give him a new phone after checking it out, then thats their call. At that point he probably had no other choice but to take it to them and see what would happen. He was LUCKY to get a new phone.
 
I am going to stop this before it goes any further. In any situation, returning your phone to AT&T (or any carrier) after you bricked it or messed it up and having them replace it "under warranty" is not a moral issue, it is considered defrauding AT&T period. And we here at Androidforums.com will not allow discussion on this point in any way as we do not support these actions.
