Help Phone won't recognize SD card

Yesterday I went to get my stuck lock button fixed and the person at the store told me it would be cheaper just to get a new phone. So I did and now this phone won't recognize my SD card. When I go to use the camera it says "Insert an SD card before using the camera" and when I go to mount the SD card it says "Insert an SD card for mounting".

I've checked everywhere and the only option I haven't tried is formatting my SD card on my computer. Unfortunately my computer doesn't have an mini SD slot so I can't do that, are there any other options?

The person at the store has no ideal what their conversing about.Takes a lot to make me laugh but lmfao either way its not your phone rather sd card itself especially the gold strips as this is where any stored data is read from.Carefully clean this off then try again
