Root Phone won't stop charging

I have a Samsung Galaxy Precedent (rooted) My issue is my phone won't stop charging even after it's been unplugged. If I turn my phone off without it being plugged into a charger it won't come on. Now my phone is constantly beeping. >.< Someone please help me resolve this issue. Thanks!

Restore the phone to defaults with the factory reset option. The option is found in the settings

Okay, I did that and I'm still having the same problem. Any other ideas?

If the issue is still there after a factory reset, it's most probably a hardware fault, sorry.

Are you on the stock ROM or are you running a custom one? If the latter, have you tried returning it to stock?

I'm still using the stock ROM. Could it be possible that its my charging port? If so, could I have it fixed?

I don't see why not. Is it still under warranty?

Can you see if the port is obstructed at all? Is there any dirt or dust in there?

Check to make sure the center tab in the port is not making contact with the outside area of the port
