Help Phone wont turn on

I have the motorola droid 1 and it will not turn on. It appears as though it is charging because the light in the area where the chord is is on, but I try to turn it on and nothing happens. I did however notice that this occurred after I had taken the phone's usb out of my computer and I forgot to properly eject it. Could this have anything to do with it and if so how do I fix it? Thanks

The first thing I would do would be to remove the battery (with it unplugged, of course).

Leave it out for a few minutes, then replace it, being sure that the contacts on the battery and in the battery well match up, and attempt to power it up.
