Help phone wont update

I bought the phone rooted. Unrooted it now im having all types of problems one being that it takes like 6 mins to boot up. I downloaded the OTA update and when i go to install it, the phone reboots and stays in the HTC Evo 4g screen for about 5 minutes, then it vibrates to signal another reboot and the screen stays in the HTC Evo 4G screen for another 5 minutes until it boots up, then once it has fully booted up, it then asks me if i want to install the update and the process will repeat. Its currently running android 2.2.
If this keeps up i will probably just root and hope for the best.

Not sure why you would unroot unless you needed to take it in for service. With it rooted you can update with a new rom. DO NOT ACCEPT OTA. Developers are fairly quick with releasing their roms with the lates OTAs
