Help Phonebook Problem

I have a Sony Ericsson HCB-150 car speakerphone and it works extremely well apart from the phonebook.
On the phone in my people folder I have - working down the list
+ add contact
Me My contact card
person 1 telephone number
person 2 telephone number
etc
When I access the phonebook all it finds is Me
All my contacts are on the sim card and I dont seem to be able to change them to the phone memory in order to try that possibility
Can anyone give me a clue please

There should be an import option on your phone (contact's setting) for contacts to transfer from SIM to phone memory.
