Help Photo Album layout question

Recently when going through my gallery on my phone, it switched views to an "all" view or "albums" view. It used to show all pictures with the albums down the side. I can not for the life of me figure out how to get it back. Or if that is even possible. I think this happened with the latest update.

I have tried with the drop down to select different view settings, to swiping from the side (does nothing)

It is really annoying me, as I move pics a lot from the main gallery into albums. ( a little ocd about it)

For me,once I select one album in the albums view, they all show up on the left hand side. I am on 4.4.2

well now that my phone has updated to Lollipop.. this is no longer an issue! lol
