I was, and still am, tempted by that Huawei (sp) D Quad at MWC. Still, I do love showing my Photon off to other peeps on other carriers to show them how much more superior it is lol 
And they all agree even with the lower speeds that I have on Sprint. Except for my boss who has the Razr.

For the record OP, the Evo3D does not suck. I bought one for me and a Photon for my wife. Both phones may have their pros and cons, but both phones are still amazing devices. For example, my wife's MoPho gets better 3g signal than my 3V0, but my Wifi signal inside our house is stronger than hers. I hate when people that have no practical knowledge of an item try to bash in order to justify to themselves that they made the right decision in buying something. Everybody has different tastes, doesn't make one phone better than any other phone.

Did you have extensive experience with an Evo3D? Or did you just play with one in the sprint store or go by what you read in other forums? While I only had my Evo 4G for a week before I traded it in on an Epic 4G, I did find it to be a great phone. The only exception was the Display Quality. It was one of the reasons I opted for the Epic with the Super AMOLED screen. The Epic was a great phone as well. I have had extensive hands on usage of my wife's MoPho and compared to my Evo3D, they are not that far apart in terms of performance, call quality, display and battery life. Though my 3V0 seems to get better battery life than her Photon. Even without the 3D portion of the 3VO (which I hardly ever use anyway), it's is still a fantastic device. I'd love for you to tell my why you think the 3D sucks in particular, but I don't want to get too off-topic. In the meantime, let's just agree that everybody has a different tastes in what they feel a good phone should be. Also, just because something doesn't do something quite as well as one hopes it would, doesn't mean it sucks either lol.

That surprises me with the different battery saving modes built into the Photon. Because of those things, I uninstalled Juice Defender.
I was one of the few that actually was able to get good battery life out of my non-rooted EVO 4G, but the Photon blows it out of the water, as far as sustaining battery life.

I'm really curious to see how long it takes for the US versions of the SGS II to get the official ICS update. I remember, there was a similar pattern last year, with the SGS I. The international phones received their Froyo update, but SGS I variants on US providers had to wait, and wait, and wait. The original Epic finally got an update 1 month prior to the EVO getting updated to Gingerbread! All the HTC and Motorola phones had Froyo for a good amount of time, prior to getting updated to Gingerbread.
We're only 1 month away when rumors started to float about the first full fledged Sprint/Motorola Android device. I'm really curious to see what Motorola and Sprint have cooked up. What's funny is, I didn't think I'd upgrade my phone from my EVO 4G last year, especially after seeing the EVO 3D, but...the Photon changed my mind completely. Once more of the leaks came out about the phone...I was set to upgrade.
And now, after having experience with both HTC accessories and Motorola accessories, it's going to be hard for me to go back to HTC.

The thread from the member who got his hands on a developers Photon is what sold me. I was having so many issues with my EVO at the end I was actually ready to switch carriers if something great didn't come out. I was definitely staying away from the 3D as it made my head hurt when I got outside the sweet spot and also I was expecting it to behave like the original EVO. I was also weary of Samsung phones based on people's issues and my personal experiences. Moto managed to keep me on Sprint.
I loved my EVO until the gingerbread update came out. Then I wanted to see that thing burned down in a fire. I finally decided I had to root at that point and found out they locked the boot loader and so I was stuck with the problems I was having. I'd like to see Moto and Sprint continue the Photon line and improve upon it like how HTC did with the EVO. It would be kinda cool to have a Moto, HTC, and Samsung family line of phones.

I had the epic, due to the fact HTC was being stupid in not updating the hero....so i was worried the same fate would happen to the Evo..(seems I was wrong 
) So when i saw the 3d was coming out, with the history on the EVO I went and spent damn near ALL DAY at the sprint store...1 WEEK before it came out (i am in that store a lot
) and tinkered with it....Did I get everyday usage out of it?? Well no...BUT I did gain enough info, that I chose to wait on the Photon...Then went back and spent more time comparing side by side.....as you can see i went with the photon...since then, i finally switched my wife to a smart phone...they had a EVO for free, and with the good things i have heard...I picked it up...and even though its at its EOL, with updates...it will make a great phone to get her going in the smart phone land.

I completely agree! I was one of the rare few that didn't have issues with the Gingerbread update on the EVO (my battery life was better than before, and less lag using Launcher Pro Plus). It was so good, that I actually handed the EVO down to my Dad to use on his account and he loves it (he's totally non-tech savvy at all, but I maintain the phone for him to use without issue).
I'd love to see the Photon line continue. I've already posted how it's been shown on a couple TV shows ("Suburgatory" and "House of Lies") and I think it's getting so underrated by many of the tech reviewers.

I know there are MANY former EVO owners over here. As much as many of us have really loved the MoPho and many things that Motorola offered for the phone, looks like the phone that we were all hoping would've been the original successor to the EVO, will finally be announced on April 4!

I'm more than likely gonna stick w/the PHOTON,as my area already has 4G WIMAX & probably won't see 4G LTE anytime soon.
Plus, I've got all the cool docking options that accommodate the PHOTON.
I would be very surprised to see another high-end MOTOROLA ANDROID phone w/SPRINT anytime soon,if ever.
HTC has got all the marketing love from SPRINT in the past & will undoubtedly see the same w/the new release(s) coming to SPRINT.
I seriously doubt if MOTOROLA will make the same move again w/HTC's EVO & the i-PHONE to compete against in the SPRINT stable.

Well, you never know what's going to happen, TS. With the blurry pick of the "Droid Fighter"...maybe Motorola will also plan on offering it on Sprint, since Sprint doesn't have the Galaxy Note.

The one thing that's keeping me attached to Motorola is the accessories. I can't get over how much more suited their accessories are to my needs than HTC. And even though I paid for the "buy back" program at Best Buy, I'm likely keeping the Photon to use as an international phone.
Decisions, decisions...LOL...turnaround is becoming too fast for me to keep up.

I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I know my market is getting LTE by the end of the year, allegedly... I have my last Gold Premier upgrade to use before the end of the year.
WIMAX sucks here. Then again 3g also sucks here on Sprint. I hope that Network Vision improves all of that.
I want to hold out for a Quad Core LTE Mototola phone. But I don't know if I want to get stuck with a WIMAX phone when LTE becomes available here.
I like HTC. I could go with the Evo One possibly. But I really want a Quad Core LTE Motorola phone on Sprint.

I'd wait. If Motorola does end up having another superphone with Sprint (I really hope so), then I would imagine they'd go with quad-core. That won't be until July and the EVO One will have been released by then.
If we go based on Sprint's history of staggered releases, this is what I'd project:
4/15 - LG Viper LTE
4/22 - Galaxy Nexus LTE
Mid-End of May - ??
June 6 or later? - HTC Evo One
Mid-End of July - Motorola Superphone (assuming they make another)
Mid-End of August - SGS III
All of those line up with the past releases. The only difference has been that last year, Motorola stepped into July for their release, which pushed back the original Epic's upgraded device by 1 month (I remember some Epic owners getting completely over-EMO about it...LOL).

I updated the timeframe based on the most recent leaks about the release dates for the Viper and the Nexus.
That said, seems strange to me that now there's the entire month of May open. I wonder if anything will get released in May, that hasn't been rumored?...Or, the June 6 release being rumored for the EVO One is actually very accurate because the 4/22 release will be far enough that people wouldn't be able to trade.
Now that you mention it, May does seem to be empty. Now let me throw this into the barrel.
Taking into consideration that Sprint has stated that there will be 15 new LTE phones this year and you listed 5, Source: Phonedog that still leaves 10 more to go before the end of the year. (About 2 per month for the remaining months in this year.)

So, aside from the ones already mentioned, these are my theoretical guesses that would make sense for the other 10:
Samsung Galaxy Note (Maybe your dream will come true, TS...and what better month than the empty May slot, if there is a Sprint version in the horizon?)

Of course, this is all theoretical based on the phones that have had some success on Sprint and some flights of fancy. But between tablets and phones, I could easily see them going with all the "successor" phones and make them 4G LTE.
Here's my last "food for thought" of the night...
With Google's purchasing Motorola, what better time than now, to develop a Nexus Photon LTE? Even though they've gone HTC and Samsung with the Nexus phones, I can't help but think that maybe they're going to use Sprint as an experiment for what their newly purchased company can come up with for Sprint's Nexus phone (even though the Galaxy Nexus is projected for sometime this month). How sweet would that be that, even though they'd discontinue the "Photon" line, they shock everyone and have their "in house" manufacturer create the next Google Nexus phone? I don't think it's that far off of an idea.

Okay...the EVO One is pretty darn awesome. Based on that phone alone, I know I'm going to be upgrading again. I just really, really hope Motorola steps up and offers a monster for Sprint (as successor to the MoPho), so I can at least give Motorola a fighting chance. I am still going to keep the Photon as my dedicated international phone and potentially use it for my daily music/video player (on the go), but by July some time, I should be rocking a new phone. As much as I love the MoPho...seems like the new devices are just going to be that much better than last year.
Only thing that I'm partially hesitant on is the size of the phones, so we'll see.

let me tell you, that the phone (HTC EVO 4G LTE) is really really nice. It has a bigger screen, but doesn't feel like its too big. Its slender and although the battery is not removable, as big as the battery is, it should keep the phone lasting longer than the Photon. The screen is superb.
The HD Voice was in my opinion a knockout. Seriously brings back the notion of hearing a pin drop.
I see both Samsung (with the upcoming S3) and Motorola (with whatever replaces the Photon) seriously needing to step up their game.

Totally forgot you went, TS! If that Razr Blade rumored phone ends up being Sprint's phone, that'll give me 2 fantastic upgrade choices. That said, I agree that LTEVO is looking pretty dandy and enough for it to be my current #1 choice for upgrade.
I'm really curious about that HD Voice thing. Not many people talked about it, if at all. What's the point of it? Can you explain a little more in detail about what it's for and what it does?
