Help Photos damaged..please help

Hi everyone

I just took loads of pictures on a holiday and got back home yeasterday and now they are messed up.
they are on the external SD card...The thing is that one minute they were fine, phone off...Phone on and CRAP !!
Some pic's open perfectly but most don't.
I can still see the image as a thumb nail but when I open it, I just get the grey icon with the lightening bolt. Some photos are partially lost. I can see a quarter of the picture and the rest is a plain colour like blew or grey depending on the base colour of the photo.
I really need to save these pics, please if there is anyway I can recover them please let me know.

Have you tried removing the SD card and using a SD card reader to look at the pictures on a desktop or laptop machine?

I've transferred the files on my laptop but certain photos open fine (same ones that open on my phone)some have no thumbnails and their size is 0kb and the others open but the image is partial only.
Please if you know of any free recovery software let me know.
Ive tried recuva and no luck
Artplus says if I buy it then the pics will be recovered

Used photo recovery and it recovered my pic's for me
