Help Photos not displayed

Lurker
I am having some problems with my camera and gallery. I will take a photo and some time later I go to view it And the photo doesn't display. It only shows a Grey head silhouette and a lightning bolt in the right corner. I tried clearing gallery cache, no fix. I tried formatting micro so card, nil fix. I think this just started happening after the latest software update. I cannot find anything on the Web. I would attach a screen shot but it doesn't look like we can do that. Thanx in advance for your input.

Sounds like the pictures are getting corrupted.

I'm not sure what the solution would be though, other than manually fixing your corrupted files.

I agree, the .jpg files from the camera are corrupted. The question is why?

Where are they stored to, your internal (non removable) memory or your micro SD card (removable)? Can you view them on a PC using a USB lead to connect your phone?

Stored on micro so card and no they cannot be viewed in laptop. Maybe I'll try storing them to internal drive and see what happens.

Copy and paste all the files you want, and can, off of it to a PC before you do anything else, leave the card in the phone for now.

Unfortunately it does sound like a classic case of the card failing, it will corrupt totally eventually. It is best to make sure you have all the things you want off it before you start trying other things. From experience don't lose that precious photo or video, they are irreplaceable.
