Help Physical keyboard lag

I've had the Epic for a month now and the lag with the physical keyboard is really starting to bug me. It's especially bad when you need to text words with a double letter like "cool" for example. Is there anything I can do to adjust this? Or fix this? It's very frustrating.
I used my sister's HTC Shift and her physical keyboard does not lag, why does the Epic?
I'm past my 30 day trial with Sprint so I'm at a loss for what to do. HELP!

Been a known issue for sometime. Im running the latest gingerbread leak (EG22) and they seemed to have most of the lag and letter skipping fixed. So hopefully when the ota finally hits it will be fixed totally.
