Help pics not on sd card

KimB

Newbie
I just upgraded from a Droid to a Droid X2. The sd card from my Droid was put into my X2 but it seems I'm missing pics that were in my gallery on my Droid. I am quite sure the pics I am missing were taken with an iPhone and sent to me in text messages. Does anyone know how I can retrieve them or IF I can?? Anytime I went into my photo gallery on my Droid they were there with all pics I had taken with my Droid. Thank you!

Kim, Welcome to the forums!

Do you know if you actually downloaded the pictures sent to you? If not they will still be on the internal memory of the phone where the text messages are stored.

I'm not sure if I downloaded but from all I've read, probably not and they are more than likely on the internal memory of the phone. Is there any way to retrieve them either to my pc or my X2? Or worst case scenario, erase them permanently? Thank you for your help!

If you still have the OG Droid and a wifi connection, you could create a Dropbox account online and then install the app on both phones. Then you can upload your pics from the Droid to Dropbox and download them from Dropbox to the new phone.

Most text messaging apps also have a feature to download image to the SD card. You can try that as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I spoke with Verizon tech support and after trying a couple of things she believes the internal memory on my original Droid got wiped because I can no longer view any images in my photo gallery on my original Droid. If I re-insert the sd card, all the photos are there except the missing. Remove the sd card, no photos in the gallery. Thanks again, I appreciate the help.
