Some people say that's for noise cancellation, but I doubt that. I think that has something to do with connecting a external device to the radio; either the cell radio or FM. Not sure which one though.

i would say this^^^, or some kinda manufacturer diagnostic


i believe the noise cancellation is supposed to be the tiny pin hole at the top left of the battery plate area

This is an antenna connector just like the one by the SD card. It is just like any laptop wifi antenna connector. There is a post in this forum with the whole phone taken apart with pictures that are labeled.

Thanks for the explanation BSynz; honestly I thought it was a WiFi antenna at first by looking at it but I was thinking 'why would a phone need/have a WiFi antenna'. So I thought it was a FM or Radio antenna(or any other external device that can connect). Did you guys find anything interesting in the phone in that thread you mention?
