picture message/email problems

I've not had my desire long, and dont know much about smartphones. I've been trying to send a picture text but it wont send. My mate is also trying to send me one but it wont download...have I got to tweak some settings?

I have the same problem with email. Wont send either!

Is your account MMS enabled?

Do you have the correct MMS APN settings on your phone for your network?

If you have the Desire on an upgrade you may have a new contract that does not include picture messages. Thats exactly what happened to me. You are not with 3UK are you by any chance ???

No, I have t-mobile! I cant even send emails!
