Help Picture message issues and signal issues

Recently was forced to switch to a T-Mobile SIM card and I upgraded my Moto G Power (2020) to Android 11 all in the same day so not sure which is to blame for my issues.

For some reason every time I send a picture message, the quality is degraded big time. I'm guessing there is some sort of compression going on, but I never had this issue before switching to a T-Mobile SIM card or upgrading to Android 11 so not sure which is to blame. I have tried multiple message apps(Facebook Messenger and Textra) as well as the default Messages app and the quality or pics I've sent are awful in all of them.

Now my other problem is even more of a headache. Whenever an app tried to use my location, my LTE signal drops. This happens every time I launch Pokemon Go for example or let Chrome use my location to find a store near me.

I've tried resetting my APN settings, turning airplane mode off and on, turning mobile data off and on, turning phone off and on, removing SIM card and reinserting it, and connecting to a private DNS. Nothing has worked. Hopeful someone out there has an answer.
 
You might want to think about trying a factory reset. The update could have been a bad download or a bad install causing your issues.

I was hoping to avoid doing a factory reset, but it's starting to look like my only option sadly.
 
Check the file size of the pictures that they are receiving, if you're sending 6MB pictures they appear to be heavily compressed to 1MB. If you send a smaller picture under 1MB is it also compressed, or will it appear to be the same quality?

  • MMS's may be automatically resized when sent, but may still be too large.

Man, so sending screenshots of my phone is going to be impossible without the quality getting gutted? Is there a way to make the file size smaller without ruining it? For example, I took a screen shot of my home screen desktop and when I sent it, the app names were barely legible. That seems ridiculous.
 
If smaller pictures are not being compressed you could use a photo editing app to reduce the file size. Is the screenshot saved as a ".png" file? Resave it as a ".jpg" file since those usually take up less data.

If T-Mobile still compresses the smaller pictures you could email them instead, or use a chat app.

I tried sending a 300kb image and it was majorly degraded too. This is rather frustrating

I am having the same issue.
Just switched to the power from Samsung.
I use camscanner app to send customers jpegs of my weekly price sheet. they all come out blurred no matter what size.
All I get from the manufacturer, carrier and 3rd party app is finger pointing. No one will help. Have you had any more success resolving this issue ?
