Someone using an iPhone is trying to send me multiple picture messages. I have auto retrieve on, so it should download automatically but I just got an error message saying "Download of message was unsuccessful" that pops up on my phone, and in my notification bar it says "Message not downloaded. Network problem" I then tried clicking "Download" in the message but that didn't work either. As it's trying to download, in my top bar where the signal bars are, the wifi symbol is on, and the 3g icon appears too whcih is weird, as when I have my wifi on that is the only icon that should be there. This is NOT the first time this has happened. Whenever it happens, the person is always trying to send me multiple pictures, HOWEVER, not every time they do that does this happen.

I have an HTC Evo V 4G from Virgin Mobile

I have tried: turning off auto retrieve and clicking download, updating both the prl and profile, restarting my phone, and trying to download with just wifi on, just 3g on, and both on together. None of these have worked.

MMS is 3G/4G. Turn off wifi.

OTOH, there are known "problems" between iphones and real phones when it comes to SMS and MMS. Maybe your carrier's store has a solution that works.

Our good friend girolez has pointed out that iMessaging only works with iOS devices. If they're using iMessaging, then have them try the Android-friendly SMS app instead.
