Help Picture Messages not received

Quick Question:

A close friend of mine has the HTC Eris and loves it. We text on a daily basis and before we upgraded phones, everything (meaning SMS and MMS) worked. But once he upgraded to the Eris and I upgraded to the LG Ally, I've never been able to receive pic messages from him. The weird thing is, he can still receive them from me. Both of us have unlimited Data and Messaging through Verizon, but for some reason my phone always tells me that his message "Is Unavailable." I'll be going to college soon and want to find a way to fix this problem, since I'll be able to see what I'm missing out back at home. Anyone know what's going on??

I was running 2.1 but I just updated to 2.2 on Friday. I was thinking that maybe it was that I was running 2.1, but (if I read right) the Eris runs 2.1

We're seeing this issue being reported here and there in device forums, most often following an upgrade.

The first thing I would try as a remedy would be to clear cache, data and defaults on the device not receiving the messages, then reboot (just turn it off, wait a minute or two, then turn it back on).

I haven't received anything since I updated to Froyo nor have I received anything since my flash over to Velocity. I'm hoping that there is no longer a problem..

I just find this problem very "moody." (In the past) Sometimes I'd have no problem at all successfully download the Pic Message. But then there are times where I just can't stand the fact I have great reception and nothing.

And my friend isn't smart enough to know what to do to clear cache and stuff like that (I mentioned this type of stuff and was looked at like I was speaking a different language). Is it a fault on my and/or his phone??
