Help Picture messaging help

I read through the other HTC Desire Picture Messaging help threads but nothing is working
Nearly every time I attempt to send a picture message I get a general message failure. I'd say 9 times out of 10. I haven't had my phone long, maybe 2 weeks, so maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I'm on the Telus network in Canada (if that matters) and I have no messaging apps installed. What happens is I take a picture on my phone and press menu > share > messages. Then I click done > type in recipient(s) > send. Just a few seconds later I get the notification that my message has failed... and I get that message a million times over until I finally shut the phone off to make it stop. I never get the failure message when I send the picture to facebook, just when I click on 'messages' and send it that way. Is there a fix for this? It's getting really irritating.

TIA for any insight, help or advice.

You have to ask your provider about your contract.
Maybe you can only send messages but no picture messages.

To stop unsuccessful messages you have to go to the output folder and delete the message.
This will stop the sending process.

Thank you Harry for the reply. I definitely have picture messaging in my plan (unlimited picture, video and text actually). Sending a pic message works 10% of the time, but 90% of the time I just get error messages. Could it possibly be something I need to change, or the network settings, or format, or...? Is there another way to send them? Grasping at straws here lol My husband works out of town for long periods of time and enjoys seeing pictures of our new son throughout the day so it's getting really frustrating that they aren't working :(
Thanks for the tip about stopping unsuccessful messages.

You could send pictures via email if your husband has an email account on his phone.

For picture messages: Ask your provider for the setting on the phone. Sometimes they can send a message on your phone which does the setting automaticly.

Thank you for your advice. Sending pictures has been working nearly flawlessly for the past few days so I'm hoping it was a network/signal/service issue. But... now I can't OPEN any picture messages. It always says "unsupported media type". Not sure what that's all about. They are regular pics taken and sent from friends camera phones (namely iphone4, samsung Galaxy S and LG Rumor2).

There is a work around for this "unsupported media type" problem :)
Save the pictures from messaging to SD card with this app (free in market) ...
Save MMS - Android
