Help Picture Messaging Issue

Right after Apple's press conference underwhelmed me I decided to go out and switch to this phone and I'm loving every single thing about it except when I send and receive standard picture messages the image compresses to a lower resolution and shows up as a 5 second video. Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it? Maybe I should exchange it?

My phone does the same thing. Also a buddy of mine with an iphone4 sent me a video and my phone would not play it.

Same issue here. Maybe its a problem with Apple's codec being read by Android?

Anyone have an idea?

It doesn't play the picture as a video, its a slideshow to the phone but never changes. But yes it does compresses the photos you send, it receives whatever is sent to you so whoever sent you the picture, their phone is compressing the photo. Of you don't want your phone confessing pictures you send you can download go SMS and tell it to keep the resolution of the picture you send, I think, but it will use more data to send it
