Help picture saving problem: corrupted files?

lucksp

Newbie
I am having problems with my gallery of pictures taken with the camera. I take photos, it looks like they are saved or i review the gallery, and then when i try to open later, i have a thumbnail/preview of a "?" as if it thinks there should be a file there, but it cannot locate it anymore. i've lost quite a few pictures recently because of this problem

Anyone familiar with this scenario?

Are you using the stock gallery app? I've seen situations where a pic doesn't show up at all in the gallery, like it's been deleted, but it's actually still on the phone. Connect your phone to your computer as a disk drive and go to DCIM>100Media. I'm pretty sure that's the name of the directory that camera pics are saved. See if the pics are still there. If they are it's probably a problem with the gallery app. Install QuickPic and see if that sees them. If the pics aren't showing up on your computer, it may be the files are somehow corrupted on the card. You may want to backup the entire SD card, format it and restore the files.

get quick pic from market, there's a problem with gingerbread on inspire saving pics in gallery, HTC knows about it, maybe a OTA fix not sure, but quick pic works for sure.

good to know. I did a full reset of the phone and the pics re-appeared! i am going to download Quick Pic. THANKS!
