Root Pictures dissapeared, help

I got this phone 2 days ago and rooted it the same day. Today I updated adaway and then rebooted and bam my pictures are gone. I know for a fact i didnt delete them. Any way i can find them/recover them? Thanks

Try connecting your phone to your computer and try locating the pictures on your computer if they're there then a simple reboot should fix it. If they're not there than I hope you kept a backup of your pictures.

Were your pictures on your internal storage or external SD?

For the future I would suggest downloading the Dropbox app for your phone and installing it on your computer. Then you will always have a backup.

I tried to locate it them through connecting to my laptop but found nothing. I later found this app called diskdigger that searches your SD card for deleted pictured and literallt found over 4000 pictures . i recovered a ton thanks to that app. And im going to start backing them up online. Thanks for the help anyhow

Or have them save to external SD. When you upgrade it I believe formats all internal sd and it would erase internal SD
