Help Pictures through texting

Hi, could someone please help me with my pictures going through texting? Sometimes they don't go at all sometimes they do, then when I get a picture from a friend through a text sometimes it will come through then other times there's a download button. I click download and it says downloading then nothing happens & I can't find the picture anywhere on my phone. Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on? This is frustrating. I have a samsung android touch screen from virgin mobile. I think its a intercept. Thanks, Genevive:confused:

Are you connected to wifi when they won't send/download? I noticed on mine they won't send via wifi, but once I turn the wifi off, I can then click that "Download" button, and they will come thru, and resend the pictures.

There seems to be some issues with VM's mms, mostly when sending pics. My friend has similar problems with his Intercept and my mom has complained about it with her Optimus V. I don't think it's phone specific, but keep in mind I don't have this phone or VM service.

Yeah, wifi seems to screw mine up, just turning it off and resending or re-downloading seems to do the trick;)

It took me dealing with VM daily for 2 weeks on this issue to realize (on my own) what the problem was. You have to have the WIFI off in order to send or receive pix msgs.

Once I figured it out, I had (another) one of their tech support people call me and I told him I figured out what the problem was.

He said yes, when your phone is connected thru wifi it is not on their network.. you are on your own network (or whoever's your connected to) so you cannot download them. He also said he could not believe that after everything I had been thru, noone from VM could tell me that.

Its sad I had to go thru all of that just to get it to work but luckily I did, because they were about to send me a new phone and I would have lost all of my apps. :-(

I am lurking this morning bored...I wouldnt blame VM or the intercept entirely...I've used a lot of different android devices and i've often discovered this issue...

It mainly affected me if i am in low coverage area
