Is there a way to get more screens in the pixel launcher ? I know has the option to have more

If you drag an app or widget to the right of the page, it will create a new page.

Thanks. Is there a way to eliminate the Google toolbar at the bottom of each page ?

I don't think so. That was one of the reasons I switched launchers.

(It's possible I was too hasty and missed something, but Google want Google's launcher to emphasise Google's services, so I wasn't surprised that there didn't seem to be a way).

You're correct, Hadron. There's no way to remove it unless you use a custom launcher.
