Do you need a filter to get a picture of Mars that apparently close to the Moon on your phone? Here in Boston MA Mars looks like it's a little finger away from the moon.

I know on the pixel 3 and 4 and maybe the upcoming pixel 5 they have astrophotography mode which takes decent pictures of the stars and moon occasionally. Any phone camera is going to be limited on picture quality. I say invest in a decent telescope ($50-$150 should work) use the telescope to maximize zoom and focus for a possible better picture, not sure if any filters will help, they might
It was a full Harvest moon with Mars to the right about a little finger away. I took the shot but the bright moon looked like it blanked out Mars.
Came out better than I thought actually.
I think the Moon's penumbra canceled out the red in my photo. Judging from the color and the fact we don't have intergalactic travel yet, that is definitely Mars.Not sure I think it's Mars
You are out in the country son. We don't see stuff like that in the big city.

I did shot the moon a few morning's ago, it turned out pretty epic, even in the daytime. Tried it many times at night, no go.

Well I have not been into the real city in a super long time, but my Aunt used to be in Quincy for a spell, last time up there was a few years ago.

Quincy has its own mayor and therefore is not Boston. But it is part of Greater Boston. I'd love to know who came up with that expression. Boston gained territory without war somehow.

Did you guys know earth almost got hit by an Asteroid on Friday the 13th, perfect day for ........ Nasa and them didn't find out about it until 15 hours after it passed Earth ......... you can see throughout the Galaxy and Universe but you can't see this big A** rock hurdeling towards us
