Hi folks,
I'm having problems with my stock 5113 Tab 2 10.1 (US), which has been unstable since the latest software installs pushed through. Reboots all the time, freezes, and drives my kid crazy. Only one of two Tab2s I have does this. Odd. Anyway, I'm thinking to install a stable version of CyanogenMod (will try a few, see which is most stable).
I guess I need to root first. I read the sticky guide, which looks like it was written long ago (4.03/4.04). Anything new I need to know, or new files I need? I see ODIN is updated to version 3 (guide refers to 1.85!).
Also, I'd like to back up the current state (stock rom, etc.) and haven't quite figured out the right way to do it. Links appreciated.
Meanwhile I'm googling the heck out of this. I'm very computer literate but never rooted / custom-ROMed an Android before.
Marc
