plastic or metal?

the other thread got lock prematurely so no one got an actual answer (which is what i thought the point of posting was). do you think that your thunderbolt is metal or plastic? i personally say plastic.

That horse was beat to death. Theres a reason the thread was lock. This thread will turn in to the same thing.

In the end does it really matter if its metal or plastic.

Also I used a device I have at work that measures paint on aluminum poles at work and it didnt register the so called aluminum in the phone case and I went all over the phone. So if there is aluminum they got it hid.
 
Plastic. If you held one in store or own one, you will feel plastic. Tap it and you'll feel the plastic.
 
Dang guys, I was 100% convinced that it was metal until I read this...but I have to say they did a good job making the plastic feel a little more high-quality than usual. Either way, I have picked up a Thunderbolt and a Charge and have been obsessing over side-by-side comparisons and I just keep coming back to the Thunderbolt. Guess I can't say it's because of the sturdy metal construction anymore :-P
 
I dropped my TB this weekend. hit the driveway really hard on the top left side corner. its metal... :mad:

all scratched up and the gouges reveal aluminum under the grey coating.

Got my company to give me a new one yesterday already. I could not live with the gouges. ( but then again now that I don't have it on front of me I guess it could be plastic... :))

So the kickstand didn't register either, but it's clearly metal. Methinks your test is faulty.

BS. Dropped my first tbolt and said it had GPS issues to get a new one. Its plastic
 
Pick up an HTC Inspire, that phone is metal.. Feels totally different than the bolt. I initially thought the Bolt was aluminium unibody, then my coworker got the Inspire.. They are both great feeling devices, but the Bolt is not metal..
