That horse was beat to death. Theres a reason the thread was lock. This thread will turn in to the same thing.the other thread got lock prematurely so no one got an actual answer (which is what i thought the point of posting was). do you think that your thunderbolt is metal or plastic? i personally say plastic.
Frame is metal, battery cover is plastic.
I think the phone isnt actually made of anything. It's imaginary, just like the food fight feast in the movie Hook.

Maybe way in the inside but even doubt that. The bezel piece that is dark silvery grey is NOT metal. It too is plastic.
i dropped my tb this weekend. Hit the driveway really hard on the top left side corner. Its metal...
All scratched up and the gouges reveal aluminum under the grey coating.

)Got my company to give me a new one yesterday already. I could not live with the gouges. ( but then again now that I don't have it on front of me I guess it could be plastic...)
So the kickstand didn't register either, but it's clearly metal. Methinks your test is faulty. That horse was beat to death. Theres a reason the thread was lock. This thread will turn in to the same thing.
In the end does it really matter if its metal or plastic.
Also I used a device I have at work that measures paint on aluminum poles at work and it didnt register the so called aluminum in the phone case and I went all over the phone. So if there is aluminum they got it hid.
