Plastic or Metal?

Anyone had hands on? I've seen mention of a metal exterior, plastic, carbon fiber, whatever. And how secure is that back cover? Some of those little plastic battery covers give you no protection from the elements. How's the grip?

Looks to be classic Samsung ...Plastic! Back is some kind of soft touch.

Samsung indicated they used a metal internal frame to ensure stiffness and robustness.

Frankly, as much as I like the tactile feel of metal on the phone, I sincerely enjoy the weight of my coworker's SGS2.

The "hyperskin" marketing was pretty bad. But no where near as bad as spending as much time as they did talking about a font for the system.

WTF!

I thought Apple was bad with the 4s release....

Has Gorilla Glass been confirmed? Nexus S did not have GG because of the contour design.

Whatever it did have is pretty resilient - after almost a year of battering my Nexus S is scratch free.. I have a track record of putting huge gouges in the front of them :p My iphone had a scratch whilst blogs were still screaming it was impossible to scratch them!

If it's as strong as that it's fine with me. The NS *looks* cheaply made but has proved to be anything but.

The font is a big deal. One of the major reasons why Android's appearance has been so lacking is because the font really wasn't that attractive. Roboto is much more modern, versatile, and appealing font.
