Play Question..

Uhhh, I wouldnt see it as a bad omen, just an automatic update now it should be in stock. I'm gonna stick around till early hours see if anything changes

The item page's status has been changed to "Due for release on 25 October 2010", and my account's status has switched back to "pre-ordered".

I know most others are having problems with getting their hands on the SIM-free version... anyone think we can wangle some freebies/discount if we kick up a fuss about them "lying" and changing the release date all the time. :p
 
It is pretty annoying. And Play.com should have given warning about the date changing again, rather than just bumping it back without warning on the day. Can see them getting in line with Amazon's November 14/15 before long. :(

If we all put our moaning hats on....why not :P im trying to find the number for my local carphone warehouse, but can only find the 0870 number when I need my area code, 118cant find it...but it obviously exists.

I found my local branch's number yesterday (local line :)), but they didn't want to sell the phone to me SIM free. Let us know how it goes. :)

Also firing a whiny e-mail off to Play about their ever-changing release dates. Don't expect anything decent back, but worth a go :P
 
Great site, but i cant seem to find my local....Stokes the nearest there to me but i cant drive at the moment...so thats out of bounds anyway..

Unless i can ask them to send one to Crewe for me, which i doubt if stock is slim. I might as well just have a walk up there, bit of fresh air never hurt anybody.
 
Lost a bit of interest in the phone now, disheartening when you think you're gonna get something and then they're like "LOL I DON'T THINK SO" oh well. The waiting game continues.

Why is it so hard for people at phones4u around here to sell me one sim free???:confused: Ive asked on the phone to about 4 stores and they said no we arent allowed lol

Think a talk to the manager will work?? :D
 
Will keep updating as the status changes, would be nice to get it next week, they're probably doing a; first ordered first served process. Ordered mine on 15th of Sept :p

Status is still 'Awaiting Stock'.

Doesn't really make much sense to me. I might ring tomorrow.
 
Rang Play.com this afternoon and asked about the status of my order. They just gave me the "the item is out of stock and we don't know when exactly it'll be in again, but sometime in the next 3-5 weeks." So I'm guessing those of us who weren't included in the initial batch of orders are gonna be out of luck for a while.

I previously ordered with Handtec and then cancelled when I thought my Play.com order would be okay... now I've re-ordered with them, ha. I hope they can deliver a bit quicker. Has anyone ordered from Handtec in the last day or two? Did they say anything about when it would be delivered?
