Help Play Store & Gmail not working

Play Store & Gmail give No connection error from last two days.. Please help !!!

Welcome to the Android Forums Nexus 5 sub-forums varunt43. Provided that when you first setup up your phone you registered your GMail account to it and that you have a valid data plan try restarting your phone. A full restart has been known to fix lots of issues like this one.

You may want to try clearing the cache/data in both apps then trying again.

Typically this clears up that error.

Everything else that requires data works properly?

As a first step. Try going to settings, account, and delete your Google account. Then re-add it.

I've been using my Nexus 5 since past two months.. cleared out the cache/data for both apps.. Gmail account removed and signed in again.. even from another account.. restarted it several times.. NOTHING IS WORKING !!

Is everything else working? Internet/browser, can you make/receive calls?

You're not giving us much in the way of details here.

An update to Google play services came on mobogenie and then it solved everything..
