Playing .wmv video clips

I have searched.

Is there a better app to play short .wmv video clips than RockPlayer?

RockPlayer starts slow, cuts off a few seconds in the beginning and end, and plays in slow motion.

Thanks

i have found the best way to watch these vids is to spend the time converting them using handbrake... otherwise you will run into codec issues like that.

there was another great player on the market but I have since lost it and can not remember what it was...but even then..I still would run into issues with some videos. rather than use multiple vid apps I just started converting all of my vids to the proper settings

Thanks. So you mean download handbrake to a pc. then convert the files on my phone to a new format? What format is best? Thanks

search android forums for "handbrake settings"

iphone settings presets seem to do well on most phones.

I had same problem, a bunch of wmv's I made with windows moviemaker that I wanted to keep of phone (an Aria). After some searching, found akmeffmpeg transcoder. It's a bit wierd to setup, if I recall, is a java ap, that basically works as a ms dos level line item entry, but it has a nice added gui. It converts my wmv's to mp4's fast and well. They even look better (smoother and sharper) than the originals.

just googled it and it's a source forge app, so probably still under development, but it already works for me.
