Root Playstore error 492 *FIX*

Update: If you haven't tried this and you say to wait an hour or to reflash the rom again, you are not helping. I cannot stress this enough. THIS IS AN INSTANT FIX! Please give it a try and if you have please let people know if it works. Thanks!

If you've flashed monster 5x or stock++ 2.3.6 and you're having trouble with the play store this is how you fix it...

Once you've flashed and booted up go back to CWM, you will notice those annoying cache errors are back. So just do this


wipe data/factory reset
reboot system now


Once you've set up gmail again it will work immediatley!!! ;)

P.S. I'm using CWM 6.0.3.0 but this should work with all CWMs
 
The fix for CTMod is to wide data and re-flash. Could you add that? Also good job on the fix guides they are very strait forward and easy to follow.
 
Not trying to burst your bubble but the fix for this playstore error has been known for a long time. Ita just noobs that dont read instructions and end up with the error that freak out and they cant find the solution even thougj its right there in front of their eyes. The fix is always just a reflash and then sign into your google account through the settings menu and then just let the phone sit for a while. Its better to connect to wifi ijs. This error is nothing new, its just a problem related to dalvik cache i think, or some sort of cache. Cant remember.

I think this is for the noobs who can't locate information in the junge of a forum post (even if there is a button for that.) But no mater what... the information works.

This is incorrect. DO NOT REFLASH. It's just a cache error because the new CWM is compatible with BOTH file types (RFS and EXT4). Once you're flashed and synced and received ERROR 492. Simply boot into CWM, wipe data/factory reset, and reboot.

If you keep reflashing you're just starting the timer back over repeatedly. This is an INSTANT fix.
 
Should add in all things root telling people after flashing rooms to login to Google account and let phone sit for an hour without touching it(at least not the play store)...req0 always gave that instruction when flashing cm7 and its worked universally for me no matter what rom or phone I've flashed
 
You're talking about two different kinds of errors really. Having to wait was due to the play store syncing, while the unable to download error was due to cache not being formatted properly.

A factory reset (or just format /cache) will indeed fix the second error.
