Root please advise

o.k., I'm stuck at the first Samsung screen. I am able to boot into download mode, but there is no recovery. The indicator light turns purple and the screen say upload mode but has no opitions. Shouldn't this be where the format options are available?
I have to admit that I flashed a different device's stock rom. (I think).
I've learned my lesson please help..;.

only hold vol+down/up and power dont hold home as well.
