it does the electric sheep logo when using recovery but it does not show up in the phone




i will donate to whoever wants to help me fix this within the hour



i only have time to do this now at lunch so if i can not i will when i get home.


please do not tell me to read the other thread as it does not have troubleshooting for SUCCESFUL INSTALL FROM SD CARD WITH NO UPDATE IN PHONE

gotta use es file explorer / root explorer and delete the files called ".nomedia" without the quotation marks and then you can select your sounds as normal.

not all of them, mind you, just the one in /system/media

deleting ALL .nomedia files will result in a slower media scan when it boots as the scanner will check EVERYTHING.
 
Btw, you might want to change your thread title, since it might make others think this thread is the kernel installation thread. ;)

If I deleted all of them, thinking it would unlock more sounds, how can I replace them so that my media scanning is faster?
 
Gang - thanks for trying to help this guy.

You all know this is a private site with simple rules that must be followed.

The poster in question has made it crystal clear to me personally that he believes he is entitled to treat anyone here as abusively as he likes, including obscenities, epithets, profanity, etc etc - because he is willing to pay - so he is entitled and this is the internet ... screed, screed, rant rant.

He's threatened to come back under a proxy server login and teach us all a lesson.

When he does, let us know via report and we'll just show this individual the door until he gets bored and decides to go act entitled and abusive to people in some other forum.

Because we are have none of this nonsense from him.
