Help Please help connect HTC Inspire to PC

Hi Good afternoon,

I bought a used HTC Inspire but i cant seem to connect my phone to my computer I tried a of options, none didnt work

I'm having a similar problem. Using a ThinkPad X61 XP Pro SR3, I can't see my HTC Inspire. When I plugin to my desktop no problem. My ThinkPad has a USB hard drive attached to the docking station. I've tried with the ThinkPad docked and undocked, using docking USB and ThinkPad USB. I know the ports and cable work because I've tested both with other devices.

I do not have this phone, I was hoping someone who did would jump in and set him straight.
