Root Please help D:

I have been trying since yesterday to root my droid x. I have tried the OC method, and downloading the z4root.apk file to my phone with no avail from either sources. I checked all the settings, (debugging, toggling all connection modes, installing drivers etc,) and had given up for the time being.
Ok, so I thought I was done messing with it until I discovered my second problem...my battery was draining waaaay to quickly. Checked what the problem was and it says 77% of my battery is being used by "rageagainstthecage" which I know was a file name in Sil3ntki11 easy root folder.
Please please tell me how to get rid of it. I don't even care about rooting anymore, I just want my battery life back.

Did you try rebooting your phone?

rageagainstthecage is the program trying to root your phone.

Pulling the battery and reinserting it a couple time while it's working can help with your root attempt. Trust me, you'll be happy you rooted if you can get it to finish.
