Help PLEASE HELP Exchange Issue with Calendar

hey Everyone... just got my Note 2 last Friday and so far I'm loving it!!!

The reason I'm here is that the only problem I'm having is a BIG ONE.

My company's email and calendar is on an exchange server. My assistant in our office takes a appointment for me and sets it on the exchange calendar and it's immediately synced to my calendar on my Note 2.

Problem is when i pull up an appt on the Note 2 it is showing the appt she sets as a "meeting invitation" and not an event...so I have no option to edit it at all....which is absolutely necessary. I may need to add info while I'm in the field, move the time slots, cancel appts etc.
When I open up the appointment on my phone and hit the menu button, the only options I have are copy, delete and share via. My sec is not doing anything different when she sets my appointments. I had no problems with my Galaxy S2

I created a new appt from my Note 2 then pulled it up. It shows it as a "Event Detail" and when i hit the menu button I have many more options including edit!!!!

I have talked to ATT: they said to call Samsung
I have talked to Samsung: they said it's on my secretary's end.
I talked to our Exchange Host: they said it's a device issue

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out if you can... I really need to get this figured out ASAP!!!

Just so I'm clear, is your secretary "accepting" appointments created by other people or is she "creating" appointments for you?

If she's accepting appointment invitations created by other people, I'm pretty sure manipulation of those appointments can't be done unless it is allowed by the originator of that appointment.

If she's creating appointments for you, but setting them up as meeting invitations, she'd have to be sure that she's allowing the appointment to be changed by the recipients. If you're the only recipient of those appointments, then it's definitely something that has changed on her end where he Outlook settings defaults to not allow manipulation of an appointment invitation. That is, of course, unless she is creating the appointments through your exchange and not hers.

That's the only thing I can realistically think is preventing you from being able to edit the appointments. Even if she says that she's not doing anything different, it's possible that something changed on an update that made appointment invitations default to where the recipients could not change the information. Otherwise, it really should work to where you were able to edit and re-save the appointment.

she is creating new appointments.she is not accepting any calendar invitations from anyone else.

it's funny because the only thing that has changed is the fact that I got a new phone. She is not doing anything different on her end when she enters in my appointments on the exchange calendar.

I watched her in the office today and are a new appointment and when it came up on my phone it was not available to edit it all. It was showing up as a meeting invitation.

I have now spent 4+hours on the phone trying to resolve this. I am on the phone now with samsung again. I called them once today and was transferred to their rewards program dept where they tried to offer me discounted dining rates...wtf! I told the lady I wasn't interested in deals on dining but rather I wanted this phone issued resolved...she then transferred my back to customer service where the tech guy wanted me to pay $99.99 for him to remotely access my phone where he assured me that he would resolve this for me...bigger WTF!!!

i just got off the phone with Samsung again and now they are saying it is a server permission setting...Our server host said nothing has changed on their end...I'm over this!!!!!

I'm on Exchange, too, and I can edit appointments that I make on Outlook with no problem. Is your secretary creating them directly logged in as you, or is it "on behalf of"? It could be a permissions thing.

Wow, this is honestly the first I've ever heard of the issue. I have a few colleagues that use the Note 2 and are able to edit appointments made by their assistants just fine.

Do you have an IT department that could maybe help you troubleshoot what might be happening?

funny you should say that because I was thinking all along it was a permissions thing...that's what the last Samsung wrap told me that it was a permission thing.

I then call back MailStreet who is the host for our server and ask them what they thought. They are telling me that they need to talk to me and my secretary at the same time while we both have our laptops open to see if the permission settings are wrong...

Funny thing is nothing has changed other than me getting a new phone. My secretary says that she has not changed anything on her end in the way that she enters appointments in the calendar.

so I'm guessing that if it is a permissions issue somehow it has to be device specific because I had no issues with my samsung galaxy s2!

Wow...this is super frustrating and calls for nice bourbon right now
