Help Please help, Hero clock freezing

Now the clock on my HTC Hero is freezing, in the normal every day function of the phone I can deal with that, but the time in the top right and the clock widget only seem to update once ive unlocked the phone the alarm does not sound when set, this is a problem as I cant even seem to find an app or widget that runs without using the time in the top right corner.

I have had a look about the site and searched but couldnt seem to find any answered so I do apologise if this has been covered.

You don't use any kind of task killer/manager do you?

Yes I have free advanced task manager, is it gonna be as simple as un-installing that??

I think the fact that the clock in the top right corner doesn't change until the screen is turned on is normal (since it would waste energy).

But obviously your alarm should still go off anyway. Task managers are known to cause problems with alarms if they're killing things they shouldn't be. (And in fact using task managers on android is a bad idea all round).

So uninstalling the task manager will probably fix it (but if it doesn't, I wouldn't recommend reinstalling it).
