Ok so i just recieved a new battery for my galaxy s2. The lady at Att told me to charge it for 6 hours and not to charge it over night because its bad. She told me that a week ago. Now i just called and the guy told me to use all of the battery thats on it till it dies than charge it till fully charged. He told me its not bad to charge it overnight. So please tell me what to do Please

Letting your phone die, then charging it completely is called battery cycling, I do that at least once a month..galaxy s2 has a lithium ion battery; is okay to leave it charging overnight, you can't over charge them..Hope that helps

actually I heard the opposite, that it will hurt it to charge longer than it takes to fill up the battery. Sorry, I know that is confusing cause it is contradicting the previous post, but I heard the old lithium ion batteries had a problem with developing a "memory" if you didn't charge all the way. The new ones have the opposite problem.

Just use your phone and charge it when you can. I charge my phone for at least 5 hours a night (leave it on the charger overnight) and I pretty much charge it anytime I feel necessary like at work (I don't wait for it to completely discharge). Use it and charge it as you like, I did this with my Nexus One for a year and half with no issues.

You'll spend oodles of time charging it from 90% to 100%, it gets a tapered charge rate. Don't worry about it, just run it all the way up, then all the way down at the beginning of every month, and charge it however you like in between.
