Root Please help.. issues with rooting Bionic..

Ok.. I am an admited NOOB and have officially reached the frustration mark in trying to root my bionic. I've been to a ton of threads from different places and get confusing and outdated info so I thought I'd give it a shot here. Here is what i'm experiencing..

I have tried to root my Bionic using SuperOneClick, Motofail, etc. SuperOneClick gets hung up at step 5 and then stops. Motofail is the latest try and i've attached the dialogue box below that hopefully helps. I'm using Windows 7 on an ASUS PC. My Bionic specs are: SYS VER-5.9.905, Android VER- 2.3.4.

I made sure the USB developers option was on, I did not mount my SD card, I tried in both Charge only and USB Mass Storage modes, updated all my drivers, and ran things in administrator mode. Here is what i'm getting from Motofail:

In the dialogue box in SuperOneClick, I kinda got more or less the same type of stuff. I've used two root checker apps and both come back with my device is not rooted despite Motofail indicating otherwise. I hope someone can help me with this. Any assistance will be beyond appreciated...
