Help PLEASE HELP :( "low on space" ... fml

Now, before anyone starts posting links to other threads that have talked about this issue, I've read about a million and done everything they've suggested. I've never had this issue before in my 8 months of having my EVO, same model the whole time. I recently rooted with unrEVOked and very quickly ran into this problem.

Here is what I've done so far to try and fix it -

-sorted apps by size, moved larger ones to my SD card then,
-uninstalled apps i haven't used recently
-erased entire gmail inbox (over 2,000 emails) as well as my IMAP inbox i have set up (again thousands of emails erased)
-soft reset, hard reset etc

end result,
SD Card
Total space : 7.40 GB
Available space : 2.06 GB

Internal Memory
Available space : 38.52 MB

HOW CAN THAT BE. UGH. I deleted everything, reset, did what i was supposed to.

Pleaaaaaase some one help me. I would really really really appreciate any tips/tricks/solutions anything would be appreciated!

Are you by chance using the "App2SD" app to move apps to your SD Card? That app also clears cache for the whole phone. I constantly have memory issues. I'm not rooted though. Also, clear out your Friendstream app (if it's still on the phone). Unsync FB and Twitter from Friendstream

I cant install any new apps onto my phone, or update ones i currently have I get the "insufficient storage" alert and installation is unsuccessful. so very very annoying

& i dont use friendstream for twitter, i have twidroyd installed but i do use it for Facebook updates. can i re-install it after i clear it? Would that help at all?

Try to delete apps that you rarely use. You can always add them back when you clear space.

Facebook with Friendstream: You can delete it and add it back to Friendstream

I start getting that error at around 42 mb left. You have to move all apps that can be moved to the SD card or delete some that are installed to internal memory. I currently have 109 total apps (that is including the stock apps) and I have 50.15 mb available internal storage. Every app that can be moved to SD has been moved and I occasionally have to get rid of something I don't use often.

yeah ive done that and im down to like the BARE minimum. it's almost not even worth having the phone anymore because ive deleted apps that i liked and used and i STILL have that stupid error. &i've gone through the list, sorted by size and moved everyone that i could to my SD Card.

Hi melissa, A factory reset worked fine for me and other when having this issue. But if it isnt working you may have "one of the lucky ones" that has a bad internal memory. If you arent rooted i'd take it to a sprint store and tell them your issue.

It seems like you have tried everything that you can do.

I am in the same boat as you. I am always deleting apps and hitting the memory limit.

Try using One tap cleaner. It has a free version in the market. It clears your cache and any search history. You may be surprised at what can be cleared away. I use it all the time as I hover around 40-55 mb of storage left on the phone.

Someone mentioned people need to start cleaning out the caches for Facebook, twitter, email, text, etc and that may solve the issue.
