Root Please help me unbrick my phone~!!!!

sparklgurl

Newbie
I bricked my phone this morning and I've been searching for a solution all day, I have attempted sammyz's fix via kdz over 7 times. Everytime I get similar log outputs and the phone stays frozen on the S/W upgrade screen.
If I disconect and pull the battery after I close the KDZ_FW_UPD then turn the phone back on I still have the same screen I got before. THe LG screen loads, then it goes to:

Fastboot mode started
udc_start()

if I plug the usb it says
-- suspend --
-- reset --
-- portchange --
-- reset --
-- portchange --

The last log created while attempting the unbrick via kdz method:

Please please please. Tell me what to do! Joneidy's fix won't work because all the links to the LGNPST links are dead. I just want to go back to my stock 2.2.2 so I can re-root the way I had before and not mess with it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried both ways. I got the same error with both at first, then I started to get where the emergency mode wouldn't recognize the device, only cs_emergency. Still produces this missing model dll error. I got a PM from sammyz he's working on something, says he knows what's wrong. Keeping my fingers crossed!!! I wish it had just been the wrong phonemode! I was still too noob to try what I was doing. LOL

Would you like to be stock or on a ROM? Or back where you were before?

How did you end up in fastboot exactly?

The real LG help just showed up :D ^^^

I was wondering about the fastboot too.... Although the log above looks almost similar in content and size, CS is what ran it all the way through for me, I was confident that would do it for Sparkl. Hope you don't mind an audience! Optimus recovery knowledge is something that may prove useful for me some time or another :D

Ok. Kinda complicated and really really f****** stupid.

So I had started with a stock phone running 2.2.2.
I had used http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-...-kit-optimus-m-2-2-2-dummy-proof-3-click.html. Followed all instructions and everything was great.
I was rooted with the stock rom.
I got Titanium Backup and removed most of the bloat, but still had no internal space, when I tried to put apps on the phone, even when I moved them all to the sd card. (I have a 32gb card).

I wasn't interested in having a non-stock rom, but I heard about darktremor scripts and a2sd. I got crazy and thought I could edit the stock rom myself using darktremor's developer instructions. But I failed miserably. I tried to go back to my original rooted working nand backup, somehow it got screwed up though and I got errors trying to restore. The phone was working (back to stock and rooted) but really slowly. I thought I could unroot my phone and start over, but I had an error when trying to unroot, which got me into the fastboot.

That's when I first looked up how to unbrick and where I am now.

OH and in a perfect world, I'd have a stock rom with support for darktremor scripts and a2sd, but I'm ok with a stock rom and root.

I'm going to stay away from attempting ROM development until my linux/android knowledge is more complete. (I'm ok with someone else doing the work as long as it's clean and effective). I just want to use my phone again!

Sorry, was eating dinner....I'm just a 17 year old high school student, got some homework to finish real quick, parents to deal with, and.... -_- dad just called, I have to go with him to a store as well.
I'll have a guide by 10 EST. :)

No problem! I'm about to be offline for a couple hours anyway (grocery store, cooking dinner, etc). Anything you can do to help is awesome, but do put school first, trust me it's IMPORTANT!!!! If we can get my phone operational within the next couple of days I'll be happy. I switched back to my old phone for now. And I haven't attempted anything else to unbrick it, so we have the best chance for success.

You're amazing to be doing all this at 17, major props! Thank you so much!

I've been doin' more research and I don't need support for a2sd if I use a properly partitioned sd card with link2sd. So I really just want a stock ROM (2.2.2) preferred. That way I can use the root method I had used before and can properly set up my sd partitions and can remove elements at will via Titanium Backup. I don't want to do any overclocking or change the launcher, etc. Thanks again!

Still at a store, sorry for the delay. I'm traveling out of the country in a few days, for about 10 days I'll be out. Buying some supplies.

Ok. So I decompressed the zip and when I run your batch file it hangs at:
< waiting for device >

I am running windows xp. I got the phone to the S/W Upgrade screen. My computer installed the LG Mobile Composite USB Driver and it shows up in the Computer Management Console. I'm not sure if I've done something wrong or what. Should I have unzipped and run the files from a specific location on my C: ?? I'm not expecting a response right away, I'm about to go to bed myself... but hopefully we can figure this out at some point tomorrow.

Perhaps I have the wrong drivers I don't know. Is it just the official lg driver I need? Or is there a different one I need? I tried it out a few different times and tried plugging the phone into usb ports it hadn't been on before. No matter which port I use I get a message about plugging a 2.0 usb device into a low-speed hub. My ports are all USB 2.0 and I never had that pop up with the phone before I messed it up. Also, the very last time I attempted to run the batch prog I left it running about 10 mins. During that time, the phone would flash off and on (between a black screen and the S/W upgrade screen, never had the initial LG screen, so it was just like the screen turning off and on) at the same time, my pc made the unplug and plug sounds for usb and the non 2.0 warning would pop up. After about 10 mins I just unplugged it all. Pulled my battery again. And went to bed. I still get the same fastboot screen when I just turn the phone on with the battery or if it is off and I plug into the usb of my pc (i'd assume this would happen if I plugged into the ac outlet too). *sigh* I know there is still hope, but this is sure frustrating!

Yea, it always says that with the download mode screen. If I have time, I'll try something, otherwise I'll try to see if the other staff here can help :)

I got it! I found active links for the LGNPST files referenced in joneidyss guide. I manage to recover my phone to stock lg 2.2.2. But I wiped my meid. I'm working on fixing that now. Thank you so much for your help. It took a lot of work, but it appears I'm on the road to having my phone back. When I'm done I'm going to post all the steps/links I used to help anyone else with similar problems. I could't have done it without you and joneidy though!!! MANY THANKS ARE IN ORDER!!!
