Root Please help me!

So I screwed up majorly. I tried to flash a ROM from my SD card and didn't realize I had ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.1.0 on it. The flash would not work. My restore will not work. I can't get out of recovery screen.

I downloaded CWM3 and ran the file but because my phone is stuck in the recovery screen my laptop will not recognize my phone.

Please help me as I'm losing my mind!!!
 
By chance did you try flashing your rom after running cw3? You might want to try that before the other, wont hurt anything at this point.

Problem is I didn't have CW3 on my phone. I thought I did. Had CW2. That's what caused the issue.

So now this should put me back to unrooted 2.2.1 & then I'll root again with CW3.

Then try flashing again....

Oh yeah, and I had run a nandroid backup and tried to restore but it wouldn't. It kept getting hung up. *sigh*
 
Ah, ok. I get it now. I thought you had a rom on there from before you tried cw3 and a different rom for cw3. Well good luck to ya!
 
I know that feeling all too well. It is one of the greatest teaching tools there is though. If you can fix this there isnt much that you wont be able to fix after:-)

Already rooted with CW3 my friend...just like that. Only took a minute!

Now flashing the ROM...since I know how to fix it I'm going to give that a go right now...what the hell, I've been up all night so I may as well.
