i need to return this god forsaken phone. i updated ran purity and all was well. now i am dropping so much signal that i am loosing clients due to not answering my emails or texts and calls. i did the throttle thing as well. what can i do to send this thing back were it shows the original radio and kernel?

You can't revert the kernel.

I believe that using the radio file in my sig reverts the baseband (more than a few have reported so on RootzWiki and XDA) but I haven't tried it myself yet.

yup:). after that i did the purity rom , i think, and i was good. the last 4 days have been horrendous. even when i get a solid blue 3g as soon as i make a call it goes to 1x sometimes as i dont get mail. just frustrated. i am going to see if its the tower by work. right now its ok at home.
 
It might be - I've theorized that dropped signals may be due to areas where 4G is either new or else where it is coming soon...

Seems like it. Possible that the towers are stressed beyond their peak as people are quick to activate their 4G. Is it possible that the towers are being pushed beyond their threshold hence the dropped data? It's the same thing when a new MMORPG comes outs. Companies always fall short of what their initial threshold are as everyone is bombarding their servers to gain access. Usually the 1st couple days of initial service are horrible. People drop from the overload. Eventually it mellows out and the servers are running below their threshold. I mean it sounds like it. Maybe VZW needs to up their thresholds so people aren't getting kicked off the network as others are trying to get in. IDK. Just speculation.
 
That's a great analogy - it may have something to do with it as well.

When I was researching LTE in and of itself, I found out that VZW's LTE is not 100% up to par in terms of specifications to be considered 4G, and that there is an updated spec called LTA Advanced that is supposed ot bring LTE in compliance with the standards set for 4G -and boost the downstream from 100 Mbit to 1 Gbit and upstream from 50 Mbit to 500 Mbit. That rollout is supposed to happen by 2014, and it's almost 2012 now....

It could very well be growing pains.
 
i also just realized being that i have been changing things so much, i just enabled data while roaming. oops.:D well ill see how it helps tomorrow at work.
 
ok so they either fixed the tower issue or the toggle was the issue. either way i am back to 3g all the time. it is very easy to jump to conclusions when your on your 5th phone.
