Root Please help new rooter!

EarlyMon said you guys could help me, who has time to do a walk thru with me while I root my Inspire? I have ace-kit and know how to execute hack-ace.sh.

Thanks, coolnesschris!

OK gang, here's the deal - I have our pal here walked thru the Mac setup for getting root access on Snow Leopard, and they're good to go into the hack-ace.sh script and are trying to follow the instructions in the main sticky here, how to root for win/mac/linux.

Given that I'm using HTC myself (rooted, naturally :)) but NOT the Inspire, I didn't want to proceed with bad advice.

Please help our buddy out here, and ok to PM me with any questions.

Counting on you helpful cats, I know you know! :) :) ;)

Cheers, best and many thanks from Yours Truly!

I THINK I'm rooted now. Lol.

now the question is, what's the most stable, best rom to use? and how to install it? and after rooting I went from 2.3.3 to 2.2. Why is that? and would that affect which roms i'll be able to install?

You can install any rom, the phone showing that is on 2.2 will not affect it whatsoever. Try Cyanogen Mod 7 (No HTC Sense) Virtuous Unity 2.39 (HTC Sense 3 or even Coredroid 8.1 (HTC Sense 3 with a theme already installed)

+1 for both CoreDroid and CM7...just flashed CM7 last night after running CDv8.1 for a couple weeks. I like them both very much. Just don't forget to flash gapps with CM7!!

I was looking at the revolution one, I just rooted two days ago. I tried cyanogenmod 7 and didn't really like the layout. My problem with revolution is the wipe app they link too is a dead link, and it wants me to mess with the radios which i am not comfortable with.

Well I got it running on Android Revolution rom, but I'm having problems installing/flashing the radio that they recommend for use with this rom. I am experiencing a difference in signal/service from before I installed the AndroidRevolution rom. Any help with why I can't install the radio? I tried almost every way and still no go.

Also, I'm having problems with the G-sensor Calibration, everytime I try to calibrate it just says aborted.

I searched it and they said to install the LordMod kernel.....which I have no idea how to do, lol.

Any help please?? this phone and its rooting and all this mumbojumbo is driving me crazy. I hope it's all worth it in the end.. cause so far I don't see a difference from when I was on the stock 2.3.3 and the rom I'm running now. Lol.

I will be getting a HTC Inspire 4G next week. Re-new contract $29.00 upgrade from a Blackberry Bold. I have a Apad also and know a little about rooting. But on the other forums I have read all the things that don't work. So I would like to not have to go that rootinf problems.
So give me the pros and cons, anyone?:)
