please help Note 3 gets hot easily

My Note 3 gets hot easily after only a few minutes of games. Battery drainage not seems obvious ever since i have used a 8500 battery. When not gaming, the Android OS always sucks up most power and sometimes even up to 80%. Can I get a solution to these problems? Does games are destroying my device? Should I stop tapping on games? Thank you for any help in advance.

Firstly, android OS using 80% when you aren't doing anything isn't necessarily a problem at all. Remember that's a percentage of the power that has been used, not an absolute power drain. So if you are using very little power but nothing else is running then the OS will use a large percentage of the very little power that is being used, and that's fine.

You don't say how hot, but running these high-powered chips hard will generate a lot of heat, so phones heating up during gaming is common. The chip should throttle if it thinks it's getting too hot (limits clock speed) - if you see the game become choppy when it heats up that's what's happening. Wait and see what Note 3 owners have to say, or post the actual temperatures (and what games you are playing) if you want to give more information, but while I don't own a Note 3 so can't talk from experience of that handset what you describe doesn't sound too unusual to me.

The biggest threat from heat is to battery longevity. As the N3 has a removable battery that may not worry you so much, but I'd not recommend gaming while the phone is charging.

If you game while charging it will probably get a little hotter than usual, which is fine.

As Hadron states, a little bit of heat isn't necessarily terrible for the device, just make sure that it isn't overly hot all the time.

Go into power saving mode. I believe the CPU will downclock to 1.5 Ghz instead of the 2.2 Ghz stock. At least mine does using CPU-Z I'm seeing my CPU's capping at 1.5 Ghz and I have power saving mode turned on.

My Note 3 has been running hot also, between 110 and 125 degrees according to CM Clean master. The problem happens whenever I use it for 10 minutes or more. I've seen people saying to find the app that is causing the problem. How do I figure out which app is causing the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

The display units at Verizon do not get hot and have a lot of junk on them for demo. Seems might be a rogue app or battery going bad. If rooted, all bets are off, since could be a bunch more reasons.

How do I figure out which app might be the problem? I am not rooted and it is not the battery getting hot, it's the top area above the battery.
