Root PLEASE Help! Phone sending random symbols

I gave my girlfriend my old Droid, it was rooted and had Liquid Gingerbread, but it was giving her all sorts of issues so I went and flashed Bugless Beasts, but it keeps doing one thing it did on LG, when she sends a long text to me and all I get is:

AIM isn't installed on the phone. On AIM theres a service that forwards an IM to your phone as a text when your not online at a computer. I am going to guess its because she is going over the character limit for an AIM Text message, but it's odd because it never did that before instead it would send it in multiple parts
 
oh so she still uses AIM on the computer? if not uinstall it from the C too. otherwise I dont know what else to tell ya man, try getting rid of aim and get trillian?
 
That is what I meant, don't use AIM. I used America on Hold once way back when and will NEVER use any of their services again, EVER. Not only was I unhappy with the service, but cancelling it took an act of God (xfered about 4-5 times) and they will still try to sneak some bills to you.

I believe one can even use VZW's website to send free text messages to VZW phones.
