Root Please help, really annoyed!

OK so i download revolutionary extract all and then it says to open as adobe? i might have hit a button to make it open to that but im not sure how to get the extracted files to be in the right spot to be opened. you could use adobe, or notepad or something to open but i cant figure out how to get it back to normal, please help!
 
are you using windows? what version? sounds like your just double clicking and its trying to open the .zip file rather than extracting it. in windows 7 you should be able to right click then "extract",in older windows,you may need to download 7 zip in order to extract the files.
 
no i have windows 7. but the little icon next to the extracted files changed.. i cant get it back to the way it was. i even deleted and downloaded it again.
 
It sounds like you chose "open with..." and then chose adobe try downloading 7 zip and using it to extract the files. I know 7 zip works on windows 7 as that is what I use on mine ;)
 
ok i dragged the zip file xtracted it and still see like internet explorer to open with the file. what do i do? is there any other way to root the thunderbolt lol?
 
i use 7 zip as well. some things i can just right click and "extract". other things i have to use 7 zip... i cant remember what i did when i used revolutionary :o

at any rate,a worse case is you download 7 zip,extract revolutionary and you should be good to go :)
 
I don't know what it would be without knowing what you are trying to open. I doubt it is .exe as that would appear as an executable program. You can change defaults by following the instructions here you may need to be logged in as admin to do so I am not sure. You can find the file type by looking at the properties it should be attached to the file name like examplefile.lookafterthedot it should be 3 or 4 letters
 
I don't think you should be messing with dll files as part of using revolutionary. It is a library file used by other types of programs there should be other files extracted from the revolutionary zip
 
Ok well under all the extracted files, i see the only one named" revolutionary" as an application. the others, have dll. i have no idea whats going on with my computer.
 
I didn't use revolutionary to root and it has been ages since I watched the video give me a little over an hour or so and I will be able to watch the video but I think you will need to use the program

Right click on the revolutionary application. Run as administrator :)
