Help Please HELP SD card and Memory

I just got this phone today and it has a 8GB SD card. Well when I went to task manager it shows it has 177MB left or memory. When I took the SD card out the memory went to 278MB. Why is it having the SD card in making my memory so low. Please someone help.

I have tried factory reset and still did not work and even change out the SD card.

That's kind of a strange thing to be happening. Are you having any problems downloading/installing any application that requires a large amount of MB of space? You should clean cache on all apps, and move all the (movable) ones to the sd card to see if that helps.
