Help Please help - stuck in reboot/red exclamation point

Lurker
Hi all, on my GN today the color collage boot up screen just appeared and will not stop. I read other threads and got so far as the menu with the recovery mode option. I selected it and there is just an android with a red exclamation point.

I have not rooted my phone or anything. I have about a dozen or so apps, nothing out of the ordinary.

My problem with reading some of the other threads is that I really dont understand the language people are saying. It seems that people are telling people with this problem to do things that (A) I dont quite understand (B) I dont get how you can do anything when the phone wont load.

Can someone give me some ideas on how to fix this? I would appreciate basic step by step instructions if possible.

Thanks

ok alot of people have this problem so does it reboot when you stay there because alot of people ave this happen too them
pull out the battery put it back in if that does not work try going too Verizon and tell them give you a new one but i don't have the nexus just throwing ideas here see if someone else can help you

Hold the volume up/down button on the side wipe data factory
reset after your in the stock boot loader

. when you see the little guy hold the volume up/down together and the stock boot loader should appear do a data wipe and reboot.
If that does not work can you press the volume rocker up or down to change windows

you could skip the wipe but if your phone turns on with that first i see bad signs
as you are going through of course, you could just try a reboot?
could be a lemon Gnexus i would at least try that and watch the phone moves
data and turning off randomly or no volume. things like this
